Karl managed the permitting and construction for the Japanese developer while at DNM Architecture. A showcase of Japanese plaster, custom birch woodwork and an efficient kitchen press-fit into this tiny space like Swiss watchwork.

Principal Karl Vavrek is the son of a ceramic artist, has worked in construction and built furniture, so we have a huge respect for the craftspeople who build-out your space.
Karl searched the Western US for someone trained in traditional Japanese clay plaster for this feature wall. He also carefully designed the hidden downlight slot to illuminate just the counter for the artful presentation of each sushi course.
